New and improved Elf on the Shelf, the festive Halloween version
Ah, Halloween – the time for pumpkin spice lattes, creative costumes, and of course, spooky decorations. Okay so Halloween is still a few months away, but it is never too early to prepare. Several friends have been asking me already if I am going to do Skeleton of the Shelf--Halloween edition again this year! To answer y'alls question I am planning on it, but in the meantime, wanted to share with others who couldn't join in on the fun of what I did last year :)
Last year I decided to add a twist to a classic holiday tradition by introducing Skelly!
Looking around my living room, I realized it was missing something to really set the Halloween mood. That's when I spotted a 5-foot skeleton I had to puchase. It hit me – why not turn this skeleton into the star of its own Halloween show? Thus began the mischievous adventures of Skelly.
I applied the "Elf on the Shelf" concept for Halloween by using skeletons. This variation follows the same idea of moving a character around the house each night to create a fun and FESTIVE experience for the holiday.
I sent a new picture of humorous scenes each day, and it provided a good laugh for friends and family of all ages. Some friends with kiddos let me know that "Skeleton on the Shelf" provided a fun, shared activity for their families to enjoy together. It was such a hit that I was asked by several people if I could do a Christmas rendition of it!
Here are some examples. It encourages creativity in setting up new and imaginative scenes every day to extend Halloween holiday fun.
